Charity Babyrace in Worthing
21 Jul, 2014
25 ladies (and 2 men!) turned out to support the Buggyfit Worthing and Littlehampton Babyrace for Tommys, the baby charity on Worthing Seafront on Thursday 26th June 2014.
Tommys is a national charity funding research into miscarriages, premature births and stillbirths. Those that took part, many of them new Mums, powerwalked 5km along the promenade, and the event ended with a picnic on the green. The majority of participants were Mums with babies and toddlers, who came along for the ride too! Sarah Prothero of NU U Fitness, Worthing, also the local Buggyfit instructor, organised the event.
Sarah said “I was keen to raise funds for a baby related charity since most of my work through Buggyfit and my mobile Personal Training business for women is with new Mums. I also have seen far too many friends go through the heartache of miscarriage and early births and wanted to do something to help” The event was kindly sponsored by local estate agents, Robert Luff, Goring Branch. To date, the event has raised over £1,500.
